Illumination of Conscience in the Bible: Is the Warning Biblical?
Source type: Scripture
Christians have long read Scripture's images of divine light — light that exposes what is hidden — as a call to self-knowledge before God.
Reading carefully
Scripture speaks of judgement and of God searching the heart. Connecting these texts to a specific future event is an interpretation, not a teaching of the Church.

A note on private revelation
Private revelations are not part of the deposit of faith and Catholics are not obliged to believe them. Each claim on this site is labelled so you can see clearly what comes from Scripture, Church teaching, an approved or alleged apparition, or the author's own interpretation.
